CFB WEEK 5 SECOND WEEKLY TOP 16 POLL

Ranking Based On The Professional Model Theory (PMT)

To those who have interacted, follow and read my published material, I greatly appreciate your time and comments you provide via Twitter, X or Facebook. I have been ranking CFB polls since the 2014 FBS season. Using the Professional Model Theory (PMT) along with the 4 Strength of Schedule(SOS) variables that I developed and created. The PMT is the same style in which; Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Football League (NFL) and the National Hockey League (NHL) all possess the knowledge of how to make the playoffs based upon their win-loss records with percentage rate, and or win-loss-tie records with points based systems. The use of the PMT should be adopted by the FBS level of college football rather than the subjective human ranking process when all the variables associated with the ranking system are subjective and opinion based.

The PMT method I use is quantifiable, qualitative, and possesses an objective evaluation based upon the 4 SOS variables I have developed. The 4 variable possess the capability to be compared against each other when teams with like records need to be ranked. Furthermore, I also look at variables associated with the SOS which can effect a teams ranked position. Those primary variables which are NEGATIVE in quantitative value are; FBS teams scheduling FCS teams and FBS teams that schedule more HOME games than away games. These variable have a direct impact on those Power 4 Conferences (P4) and FBS programs. If you are a college football researcher like myself, we look for variables that the mainstream media fails to recognize or place negative impact associated with the P4 members. That indicates that the human subjective voters, mainstream media such as ESPN, and the AP human voters only see one aspect. “Name brand programs from name brand conferences deserve more of an opportunity to compete for the CFP/FBS National Championship.”

EVERY FBS team from EVERY FBS Conference deserves a fair, equal and just opportunity to compete in the CFP playoffs and the title. Should not matter what your school name is or conference name. However, certain fan bases, certain media outlets (ESPN), the human voters of the AP, AFCA and FWAA are only seeking to validate those FBS programs from name brand conferences and name brands universities and colleges.

Week 5 Second Rankings

Below is the table that lists my CFB Top 16 based upon the PMT and the SOS variables. The numbers do not lie and they tell a different story.

NOTES: ALL TEAMS IN BOLD are FBS teams that have scheduled with either played or will be playing an FCS team. FCS games DECREASES your SOS credibility. More HOME GAMES DECREASES your SOS credibility. Rankings are based upon the PMT and 4 SOS variables I use, that the AP AFCA FWAA and ESPN do not even understand its value.

TO THE SEC FAN BASE: IT’S EARLY… ITS NOT ALWAYS ABOUT THE SEC. PLAY MORE TRADITIONAL AWAY GAMES VERSUS FBS PROGRAMS WITHIN YOUR NON CONFERENCE SCHEDULE.
